It appears Cheryl Cole could be working with a number of hip-hop artists on her next album, including the likes of Eminem and Nicki Minaj. The Girls Aloud star is currently working on the follow-up to her last solo effort Messy Little Raindrops of which associated act Will.I.Am has pushed towards being more of a hip-hop album, as oppose to Cheryl’s previous pop albums.
“Cheryl’s album is finally coming together now and is sounding incredible. It’s completely different to anything she’s brought out before and has much more of an urban vibe to her previous pop-based stuff. There’s a lot of heavy beats and it has a real old-school flavour to it.” Supposedly, Cheryl has even lined up collaborations with Rihanna and Usher, as well as David Guetta.
Though it’s pretty doubtful that Eminem will deliver a verse on any of Cheryl’s songs (street cred and all that), he’s never been one to shy away from the production game, and judging from past projects for artists such as 50 Cent, Slaughterhouse, Dr Dre & more, it would be no surprise if the Slim Shady creator delivered something worth looking out for.
Earlier this year, Cole also reportedly landed her first film role alongside Jennifer Lopez and Cameron Diaz in a new Hollywood pregnancy flick called What To Expect When You’re Expecting. Meanwhile, Simon Cowell seemingly ruled out the possibility of Cheryl returning to her former position as a judge on The X Factor after he had reportedly offered to double the salaries of Tulisa Contostavlos and Kelly Rowland to entice them back to the talent show next year.
